  • Adult Hearing Assessment

We offer advanced diagnostics beyond the traditional audiogram depending on what the patient presents with. Our Essential, Advanced and Premium testing offers a variety of test batteries to establish your hearing health. We always start with a free consultation to determine your testing and treatment plan and move forward to testing when the patient is ready. Testing will therefore range from $65 to $95.
  • Adult Tinnitus Assessment

We provide full hearing assessments with emphasis and further testing for tinnitus (ringing in the ear). This test will determine what causes the tinnitus, how to treat it and appropriate solutions to consider moving forward with full documentation to other participating care providers. If indicated, with electrophysiological testing to rule out medical concerns related to tinnitus, add another half hour and $55.
  • Pediatric Test

We see kids for ear, hearing and auditory processing issues. We start with a basic test for $75 and make further testing recommendations based on our findings that we review with parents and report to key care providers including the GP. We see kids 6 months to 18 years. Between birth and 6 months we can do an ABR test if the child is restful and calm which is $150 and this may also be an indicated test for those up to 18 years of age (and older, used in adults for diagnosis as well).
  • Employment/Licensing Testing for Third Party

We provide testing for pre-employment applications or maintenance tests for keeping your position as is the case with RCMP. There is a nominal fee to cover the liability and third party regulations. This includes drivers and pilot license retests.
  • Balance Testing

We provide unique balance assessments using state-of-the-art equipment to quantify what is usually only subjectively assessed, and report the documentation to referrals including GP or specialists depending on findings. If you have vertigo, dizziness, lightheadedness or other equilibrium concerns especially if they've been tested for and diagnosed before but stay recurrent, this is a helpful test to get to the bottom of things.
  • Pediatric Auditory Processing Testing

With normal hearing and as of approximately age 7, we can assess the spacial and processing ability of a child to determine what kinds of remediation, treatment or technology may be indicated to help them excel at home and school. Screenings start at $75. This will determine any additional testing with associated fees if necessary, treatments, referrals or technologies that are recommended at that time.
  • Adult Auditory Processing Testing

Adults can experience difficulties making sense of speech in noisy environments and process sound uniquely. This can be tested, diagnosed and treated in our Adult APD clinic. Screenings start at $75. If any additional testing is indicated this recommendation will be substantiated by the clinician and referrals or additional testing recommended with any additional fees that the base screening fee works towards.
  • Post Concussion Test

To verify, baseline, or track rehabilitation improvement after a concussion, this test assesses the peripheral, sensory and neural aspects of hearing for post-concussion patients. This is an important test if an insurance claim is involved in the injury.

  • TRT (Tinnitus Retraining Therapy)

We are part of the TRT Association (http://www.tinnitus-pjj.com). TRT is the most recognized form of tinnitus treatment. Using ear-level devices that are on loan during the 6-8 week treatment, sound is used to combat the tinnitus and re-program the auditory centres to habituate to the sound of tinnitus. With associated information that is provided, the patient will see a significant decline or elimination of bothersome tinnitus. If the patient then chooses to continue using the devices, they can be purchased at discount.
  • Cerumen Management (wax removal)

We are provincially licensed by our regulatory body to provide all types of wax removal including irrigation, suction and instrumentation. With state of the art equipment and techniques, we are the solution for those who need incidental or regular cerumen management. Depending on what the patient presents (ear health, type or amount of wax, type of procedure used, etc.) the fee starts at $40 per ear. Cost will be at the discretion of the clinician.
  • Sound Therapy

Using the latest neuroscience technology, sound is used to improve hearing with filtered recordings that research shows can improve hearing, concentration, focus and auditory processing. The program will work over about 3 months and is home-based for user convenience. It comes with a player, headphones and a guide on how to proceed through the treatment effectively.
  • Auditory Processing Training

Pediatric auditory processing deficit can be treated with auditory training specifically designed as a fun tablet game that improves auditory function centrally.
  • Auditory Training

We provide auditory training to help people with difficulty hearing in noise to re-train their auditory processing centres and improve auditory processing ability. The program is home-based and run on your computer with multiple auditory exercises. Think of it as Sudoku for your hearing.

  • Hearing Aids - Unbundled

Usually clinics charge a lot for hearing aids because they provide essential testing for free. We on the other hand do more extensive testing with fees, and provide hearing aids at COST or BELOW COST if we can pass on a discount we get from our supplier. This makes hearing aids more affordable. We add a nominal fitting fee for our professional services to properly fit and calibrate the devices to the patient. This is standard practice with public health, workers compensation boards, the military and first nations coverages. Prices will range from under $1000 to about $2600 per device depending on the level of technology you require or want, ranging from essential amplifiers, mid-range sound processors to premium noise reduction technology.
  • Tinnitus Combination Instruments - unbundled

Priced the same as hearing aids, TCI's are used for people experiencing tinnitus, with or without hearing loss. These devices can be purchased with or without TRT treatment. They have sound-generators built in to help manage tinnitus.
  • Roger Accessories

Roger is a noise-reduction and speech-enhancement technology that can be used with most hearing aid brands and models. Roger microphones are remote, so you can put it on a meeting room or restaurant table and it will pick up the speech, and send it wirelessly to your hearing devices using a proprietary non-bluetooth, self-levelling, automatically adjusting signal and enhance speech 20 dB above background noise. For those who need it, it is a godsend! Hearing aids generally give up to 8 dB speech over noise enhancement so this is a lot more! All Roger accessories are provided with an initial 30 day free trial period. We are Roger Certified which means that they are priced at well below retail pricing.
  • Roger Focus

We provide Roger Focus technology when hearing aids are not required. The Focus is an ear-level receiver for the Roger remote microphone that can enhance speech for those with normal hearing but processing challenges when trying to understand speech in noisy places. They are also indicated for kids with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), auditory processing disorder (APD), ADHD or ADD. We are Roger Certified which means that they are priced at well below retail pricing. We will also send them for trial outside of Kelowna.
  • Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA)

We support BAHA devices of all brands. In Alberta, they are surgically prepared in Edmonton and included with the surgery. They need regular service and programming adjustments as hearing changes. They last about 5 years and then can be replaced. We can order, service and program them while monitoring your hearing change. Any tests that show candidacy for BAHA are referred to the Edmonton program through AHS.

  • Financing

Hearing technology can be expensive. We provide MediCard financing that will make it more accessible and affordable. The financing can be paid out penalty-free at any time. The rates and terms can be determined through the application process that we can work through with you. It is easy and hassle free.
  • Reprogrammings

If you have hearing aids and they need to be adjusted we can retest and reprogram your devices and make them work better. Sometimes you don't need to get a new hearing aid if the ones you have are still working!
  • Coverage

Whether you qualify for any governmental program like WCB (any province), NIHB (DIA) or DVA (VAC) or union, workplace or other coverage, we will sort out the paperwork, process and help you get the financial coverage you are entitled to. We are involved with a committee that is seeking coverage for hearing aids in the province of BC similar to that available in Alberta and Ontario.
  • Workplace Accommodation Reports

We advocate for our patients in the school or workplace to optimize hearing. There may be suggestions for contextual or technological adjustments to set our patient up for success. We are the clinic that provided the solution for 911 dispatchers to be able to hear all incoming audio even with hearing aids and created a protocol that can be implemented across the country.
  • Legal Forensic Audiology

Using the Doctors of BC fee schedule we provide full legal reporting and trial support as experts in audiology including hearing change, tinnitus, hyperacusis and mysophonia. We have worked with ICBC, a number of law firms and are available as expert witnesses for the prosecution or defense when hearing is involved.
  • Hearing Aid Verification

We will use the latest in real ear technology to verify your hearing aids are working, especially if an employer needs that confirmation. We can also see how well they're working and make recommendations on improving your hearing with your devices. We charge the same for 1 or both ears.

  • Hear4U

This program increases access to hearing health care in British Columbia. Hear4U intends to eliminate or reduce the impact of hearing impairment in under-served populations around the world with a mandate to: 1. • Batteries

We provide PowerOne batteries which are made in Germany. They boast a long battery life and less surging on the circuit when high drain is demanded. We charge $45 for a box of 60 cells which is more than a year supply for one device. Look out on our social media presence for sales and discounts!
  • Accessories

We have a full array of assisitive listening devices such as alarm clocks, pillow alert systems, tinnitus sound generators and more. Check with your clinician to see what we can find for your needs.
  • Custom Ear Pieces (ear molds)

We provide custom ear pieces for sleeping, swimming, noise and music. Our impressions are sent to the lab to build medical-grade silicone material with differing densities based on need. Noise defenders used in industry are OSHA and WCB approved to attenuate (reduce noise) properly at the key frequencies while being safe to wear and hear some speech and background sounds to avoid accidents. Hearing aid earmolds cost $70, noise defenders $150 for the set, and custom musician plugs (calibrated) cost $250 for the set.
  • Hearing Aid Care

We have a full supply of all hearing aid maintenance products from tube blowers, tubes, domes, ear gene (for itchy ears) and a variety of dry aid kits (dehumidifiers). Whatever you need, we've got it!

Today I ventured to Ossicle Hearing for my initial consultation and hearing tests. As a lead up to my initial visit, Megan fielded numerous concerns and questions via email, reassuring and supporting me! I was greeted with such warmth upon my arrival and even met the GM, Steve. He too was welcoming and very sincere. It became apparent these people really care about the person they are serving! Janelle, my audiologist, was professional, yet caring and took a great amount of time to explain the procedures and about my specific tinnitus needs. At the completion of my testing...again Janelle gave a full dissertation of the results and what type of appliances I would require. My medical provider covered about 40% of the cost...and Ossicle offered no interest financing to resolve the residual amount owing. I was so touched by their empathetic and humanistic approach and that help was on it's way for my profound hearing loss and severe tinnitus, that I broke down in tears! They comforted ...

Ossicle Hearing (Janelle & Steve) were kind enough to present to Autism BC's community group about auditory processing disorder and hearing concerns. They were friendly, knowledgeable and answered the group's questions.
